EAST STROUDSBURG –
Erik Cardoso and
Marcus Torgersson were named PSAC Men's Soccer Eastern Division First Team All-Conference performers, while
Oliver Lundberg,
Evan Miele and
Bradley Turocy each garnered Second Team All-Conference honors, as the league announced the end-of-the-season awards on Wednesday afternoon.
Cardoso has started all 19 games for the Warriors this season, anchoring a defensive unit which ranks third in the PSAC in both goals allowed (19) and goals against average (1.00). Cardoso has played a pivotal role on ESU's backline, helping the team post seven shutouts on the year, including six in PSAC East play.
Torgersson joined Cardoso in collecting First Team All-Conference honors after starting all 19 games and posting six goals and six assists. Torgersson, who leads the Warriors in points (18), shots (36) and game-winning goals (3), ranks seventh in the PSAC in assists and ninth in points. The Gothenburg, Sweden native was named the PSAC East Player of the Week on Monday after scoring the game-winner in an overtime victory at Millersville and tallying three assists in a win against Shepherd.
Lundberg has been a force in the Warrior midfield all season, starting 19 games and racking up 15 points on three goals and nine assists. Lundberg, who leads the PSAC with his nine assists, ranks third among ESU players in points, and is tied for fifth in both goals and shots on goal. Lundberg netted the game-winning scores in both of the team's victories over Shepherd this year.
Miele, a three-time PSAC East Defensive Player of the Week honoree this season, owns a 0.753 save percentage and 0.98 goals against average in net. The net minder from Randolph, New Jersey has recorded 10 victories and six shutouts on the year, while yielding just 18 goals all season. Miele is tied for second in the PSAC in shutouts, and ranks third in goals against average and fourth in save percentage.
Turocy has played in all 19 goals during his rookie campaign, registering 17 points on seven goals and three assists. His team-high seven goals on the year are good for 10
th-most among all PSAC players. Turocy also ranks second on the team in points, is third in shots, and fourth in assists. The Bethlehem, Pennsylvania native was named the PSAC East Athlete of the Week back in September after tallying a combined seven points in wins over Felician and Jefferson.
The Warriors, who sit at 11-5-3 overall on the season, reached the PSAC Quarterfinals before falling to West Chester. They will await to see if they receive an at-large bid to the NCAA Tournament.
