ESU Baseball Announces Schedule for 2020 Season

2020 ESU Baseball Schedule

EAST STROUDSBURG –  Thirteenth-year Head Coach John Kochmansky has announced a 50-game schedule for the East Stroudsburg University baseball team. The 2020 season will feature 26 home contests at Creekview Park and opens on February 8 against Chowan University in Murfreesboro, N.C.
 
The Warriors open the season with a pair of games against the Hawks on February 8 and wrap up their three-game series against Chowan the following day at 12 p.m. ESU will head back to the Tar Heel State on February 14 for a series of contests at the USA Baseball National Training Complex in Cary, N.C.
 
The second annual ESU Invite will mark the home-opener for the Warriors, who face Jefferson on February 28 at 1 p.m. ESU will also host a single game against the Rams on Saturday and close the weekend with a pair of games against IUP on Sunday at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.
 
ESU hosts non-conference matchups at home against Bloomfield (Mar. 6-7) and the University of the Sciences (Mar. 10) before opening PSAC East action at Mansfield on March 13. The series between the Warriors and Mounties will shift to Creekview Park for a doubleheader on Saturday as part of Cystic Fibrosis Awareness Day.
 
A five-game road trip will see the Warriors travel to Shippensburg (Mar. 21) and Millersville (Mar. 24) for a pair of doubleheaders before heading to Bloomsburg for a single game against the Huskies on March 27 at 2 p.m. ESU will open the month of April with a single non-conference tilt against the College of Staten Island at 4 p.m.
 
Saturday, April 4 will be Alumni Day at Creekview Park as the Warriors host West Chester in a PSAC twin bill beginning at 12 p.m. The Warriors also host Kutztown at 2 p.m. on April 10 as part of Military Appreciation Day.
 
The 2019 senior class will be honored prior to the start of a PSAC doubleheader against Lock Haven on April 18. The Warriors close PSAC regular-season action at home against Shepherd on April 24 in a single-game beginning at 2 p.m.
 
ESU hosts a pair of non-conference games against Saint Rose and Saint Thomas Aquinas on April 28 and May 1 before closing the regular season with a doubleheader at STAC on May 2 beginning at 1 p.m.
 
The top-four seeds from the PSAC East and West will advance to the conference tournament that will be hosted by Slippery Rock (May 6-9). The 2020 PSAC Baseball Championship will feature a single elimination in the first round and a double elimination for the remainder of the tournament.
 
ESU finished the 2019 campaign with a 31-19 overall record as the Warriors crossed the 30-win mark for the first time since recording a school-record 38 wins during the 2016 season. The Warriors won the championship in 2013 and finished as runner-ups in 2015. ESU has advanced to the NCAA Division II Tournament three times (2011, 13, 16) under Kochmansky.
