GREENSBORO, N.C. — The American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) announced its 2026 ABCA/Rawlings Division II All-Region Teams earlier today, naming second baseman
Walker Zampella and starting pitcher
Ryan Dewees to the All-Atlantic Region First Team.
These mark the third All-Atlantic Region awards that both Zampella and Dewees have earned just this year, as Zampella was named to the First Team by the Division II Conference Commissioners Association (D2CCA) and the National College Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA), while Dewees earned First Team from the D2CCA and Second Team from the NCBWA. ESU has now had multiple players named to an All-Region team by the ABCA in four consecutive seasons, with Zampella and Dewees becoming the 27
th and 28
th different players to earn the honor, all of them coming after the 2007 season.
Zampella had a slash line of .347/.448/.506, finishing second on the team in SLG%, fourth in batting average, and fifth in OBP. His 89 total bases led the team, as he recorded 12 doubles, two triples, and four home runs for 18 extra-base hits. Zampella went 17-22 on stolen base attempts, jumping up to fourth in program history with 64 career stolen bases.
Dewees led the Warriors' rotation as its number one option from start to finish, recording a conference-best 84 strikeouts. In 71.1 IP across 13 starts and 15 appearances, Dewees posted a 3.15 ERA, the lowest of ESU's four starting pitchers. He wraps up his career with a 24-6 record in 47 appearances, which is tied for the second-best winning percentage and third-most wins in program history.
The ABCA/Rawlings Division II All-America teams will be announced on Friday, May 29. Only First Team All-Region selections are eligible for All-America honors. ABCA/Rawlings Gold Glove teams for all divisions will be announced on Wednesday, June 17, while the 2026 ABCA NCAA Division II Region All-Defensive teams will be released on Thursday, June 18.
