Day Two Results

ADRIAN, Mich. – Freshman Tatyana Ortiz made history on Saturday as she became the first member of the East Stroudsburg University women's wrestling team to earn All-America status with a fourth-place finish at the Cliff Keen National Collegiate Women's Wrestling Championships.

ESU finished 17th in the team standings after moving up one spot from the previous day. The Warriors along with 18 other NCAA schools helped to make the inaugural tournament a success. Adrian College hosted the tournament that would be won by McKendree University.

Ortiz, who entered the tournament ranked No. 2 at 109 pounds, won a pair of matches on the day to advance to the third-place match for the Warriors. She tallied a pair of falls en route to matching up against Brooke Thurber from the University of Wisconsin at Stevens Point. Thurber won via tech fall to secure third-place at 109 pounds.

She would pin McKendree's Natalie Reyna in the fifth consolation round at the 3:45 mark to advance to the semifinals. Ortiz needed just 1:55 to pin Ciara McCrae from Simon Fraser to continue her tournament run. She finished with a 4-2 overall record and earned 17 points for ESU.

The Warriors also had victories during the two-day tournament from freshman Lakiesha Sullivan (109), sophomore Josselinne Campos (130), and sophomore Alyssa Marinaccio (143). ESU finished ahead of Schreiner University and Limestone College in the team standings and was just three points back of Lindenwood University, who finished 14th overall.
