EAST STROUDSBURG -- On January 23, the East Stroudsburg University softball team will be hosting an exposure clinic featuring two motivational guest speakers in two-time World Series champion Jim Leyritz and three-time gold medalist Leah O'Brien. Along with coaches from Division II Atlantic Region runner-up ESU, Division I coaches from Bucknell, Drexel, Maryland, Rider and Villanova will be present for clinics inside Koehler Fieldhouse.

- An All-Skills Clinic for ages 11-18 will take place from 1:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. for $300.
- A Pitchers and Catchers Clinic for ages 11-18 will follow, beginning at 4:30 p.m. and lasting until 7:30 p.m. for $250.
- Register for both the All-Skills Clinic and Pitcher and Catcher Clinic for a discounted rate of $350.
- For ages 10-and under, an All-Skills Clinic will take place from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. for $75.
- A $10 ticket is available to purchase for any additional family member or friend that wants to listen to motivational speakers Jim Leyritz and Leah O'Brien from 4:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.
Jim Leyritz, a two-time World Series Champion with the New York Yankees in 1996 and 1999, spent 11 seasons in the major leagues, also playing for the Anaheim Angels, Texas Rangers, Boston Red Sox, San Diego Padres and Los Angeles Dodgers. Leyritz, primarily a catcher, belted a home run in game four of the 1996 World Series against the Atlanta Braves sparked the Yankees to its first World Series Championship in 18 years. In 11 seasons, Leyritz posted an impressive fielding percentage of .995 as a catcher and threw out 84 potential base stealers.
Leah O'Brien, an All-American and three-time NCAA Champion at Arizona, helped Team USA to three consecutive Olympic Gold Medals in 1996, 2000 and 2004. During her impressive collegiate career for the Wildcats, O'Brien batted .428, smacking 55 doubles and 181 RBIs. She struck out just 25 times in 790 collegiate at bats. She continued her success at the international level, with a .338 batting average and 50 RBIs for Team USA. She currently works in ministry and occasionally offers color commentary for ESPN.
ESU tied a school record with 29 wins and registered an impressive 20-4 record at Creekview Park in 2021. After earning an at-large bid to the NCAA Tournament the Warriors advanced to the Atlantic Region championship round for the first time in program history as one of the final 16 teams remaining. As a team, ESU posted its best batting average since 1977 (.304) and set school records in both stolen bases (132, 2nd in DII) and fielding percentage (.971). The Warriors earned its first-ever NFCA Division II national ranking, placing 24th in the final coaches' poll of the season.
