EAST STROUDSBURG, Pa. - The East Stroudsburg University baseball team will send a total of 33 players to 12 different collegiate summer leagues across the United States.
Collegiate summer leagues allow student-athletes the chance to develop their skills during the summer months while having the opportunity to play in front of professional scouts using wooden bats.
The Warriors will send players to the Atlantic Collegiate Baseball League (ACBL), Atlantic Baseball Confederation Collegiate League (ABCCL), Baseball U Pennsylvania Summer League, Blue Mountain League, Cal Ripken Collegiate Baseball League, Coastal Plain League (CPL), MINK Collegiate Baseball League, New England Collegiate Baseball League (NECBL), Northwoods League, New York Collegiate Baseball League (NYCBL), Perfect Game Collegiate Baseball League (PGCBL) and Ripken Summer Collegiate Baseball League.
"Summer collegiate baseball leagues is a big part of our player development", said head coach
John Kochmansky. "I greatly appreciate the opportunity these organizations provide and it says a lot about the quality and respect for ESU and PSAC baseball that so many summer organizations are welcoming our players."
ESU will have seven players suited up this summer for the Baseball U PA Summer League in Scranton, including freshmen
Jack Chapman,
Michael May and
Jerome Repetz as members of the White Team. Redshirt sophomore
Logan Stirr and redshirt freshman
Nic Davenport will suit up for the Orange Team while freshman
Hunter Simpson (Black Team) and redshirt sophomore
Scott Shamany (Camo Team) round out the roster spots for the Warriors.
The Warriors will have five players on four different teams in the Blue Mountain League. Redshirt freshman
Ben Piripavel and freshman
Patrick Morrisey will play for the Hellertown Royals while freshman
Shane Fillman suits up for the Limeport Bulls, redshirt freshman
Adam LeMaster for the Easton Falcons and freshman
Alec Snyder for the Martins Creek Creekers.
Five Warriors will also head to the CPL this summer as redshirt juniors

Justin Guidos will play for the Wilson Tobs in Wilson, North Carolina. Redshirt freshman
Brent Francisco and redshirt junior
Brock Kauffman will gear up for the Asheboro Copperheads in Asheboro, N.C.
Freshmen
Zack Hynes,
Jack Nielsen and
Tom Reisinger are all headed to the NYCBL. Hynes will play for the Cortland Crush, Nielsen will suit up for the Dansville Gliders and Reisinger will pitch for the Salt Cats in their respective cities in New York.
Three players will appear in the ACBL this summer with freshmen
Jude Negron and
Eric Thron teaming up on the Quakertown Blazers of Pennsylvania while All-PSAC Second Team selection
Tim Haverstick will be behind the plate for the Trenton Generals of New Jersey.
ESU will send a trio of freshmen in
Tommy Ajjan,
Cooper Gehring and
Jeremy Piatkiewicz to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina to play for the Coastal Ironbirds in the Ripken Summer Collegiate Baseball League.
Redshirt junior
Tommy Dunleavy and junior
JP Nolan will team up this summer as they play for the Takoma Thunderbolts of Takoma Park, Maryland in the Cal Ripken Collegiate Baseball League.
The five remaining players for the Warriors will be spread out among four different leagues this summer. Redshirt sophomore
Chase Nowak highlights the group as he heads to the prestigious New England Collegiate Baseball League to suit up for the Marth Vineyard Sharks in Oak Bluffs, Massachusetts. After recovering from an early season injury, redshirt senior
Anthony Torreullas will play in the MINK League for the Peak Prospects, who play their home games in Des Moines, Iowa. Redshirt junior
Leon Finney also travels to the Midwest as he suits up for the Wisconsin Rapid Rafters of the Northwoods League. The Rapid Rafters play their games in Wisconsin Rapids, WI.

Tyler Cassella will suit up for the Gamers in the ACCBL and sophomore
Jake Packer will be behind the plate for the Newark Pilots of the PGCBL.
The Warriors additionally have three incoming freshman also playing in the Blue Mountain League with Jack Rothlenhauser and Parker Frey playing for the Hellertown Royals while Quinn Warmkessle suits up for the Northern Yankees.
