EAST STROUDSBURG. – The East Stroudsburg University men's wrestling team returned to Koehler Fieldhouse on Wednesday night defeating Shippensburg, 35-9, in a PSAC dual meet.
The Warriors improve to 2-4 in dual meets on the season and 1-1 in the conference while the Raiders fall to 2-4 overall and 0-2 in the PSAC.
Prior to the match, the Warriors honored Sczar Charles, the lone senior on this year's roster.
Freshman Josh Jasionowicz started the match off with a bang as he picked up his fifth fall of the season after pinning Shippensburg's Josh Jackson in 45 seconds.
After a fall by the Raiders Tyshawn White even the matched at 6-6, the Warriors picked up wins at 141 and 149 lbs. by forfeit to regain a 18-6 advantage.
Jack Spahn proceeded to move to 2-0 on the season after earning a 11-2 major decision at 157 lbs. and Luke Ciampa improved to 8-3 with a 14-2 major decision at 165 lbs.
Josh Leidig earned a forfeit at 184 lbs. and Matthew Richardson closed out the night for ESU by grinding out a 5-3 decision to cap off a 35-9 victory.
