Men’s Track & Field Registers Six Conference Qualifying Results at Gulden Invitational

LEWISBURG – The East Stroudsburg University men's track and field team tallied three more PSAC qualifying marks to highlight a busy day at Bucknell's Gulden Invitational on Saturday at Gerhard Fieldhouse.

Notching PSAC qualifying times and marks were Tyler Boone (200m, 400m), Raul Esteves (200m), Jack Gorham (long jump), Brian McGarrity (mile) and Aaron Sanchez (high jump).

Running Highlights

Making his ESU debut, Tyler Boone didn't waste his opportunity as he clocked a PSAC qualifying time of 50.65 in the 400m on his way to a third place finish. Sean Roberts took seventh with a time of 52.13 in his first 400m performance of the season.

Boone returned to the track for the 200m and earned aother conference qualifying time after crossing the line in 22.73 for a runner-up finish.

Esteves put together another pair of strong performances in the 60m and 200m dashes, taking third in both with times of 7.06 and 22.74, respectively.

In the mile, McGarrity put together a personal-best performance with a time of 4:30.56 to finish 11th. 

Racing in the 4x400m for the first time this year, Roberts, Ryan Ditty, Zephyr Crestwell and Boone posted a time of 3:26.09 in third place as the Top 12 declared teams compete at the PSAC championships.

Field Event Highlights

Jack Gorham earned a spot at the conference championships after recording a mark of 6.74m in the long jump on his way to third place finish.

In the triple jump, Ivan Hicks finished fourth after leaping 13.52m while Gorham was right behind in fifth with a mark of 12.97m.

After throwing a PSAC qualifying mark in the weight throw a week ago, Daryn Blackwell recorded a new season-best toss of 15.64m to finish as the runner-up. Isaac Almoney was fifth with a personal-best throw of 14.60m and finished in the same position during the shot put (14.72m).

Sanzhez highlighted a busy event for the Warriors in the high jump after clearing the bar at 1.85m for a PSAC qualifying mark while finishing in sixth.

ESU returns to Bucknell the following week for the two-day Bison Open and Multi on Friday and Saturday at Gerhard Fieldhouse.
