ALBION, MI – Behind a trio of first place finishers and 11 other wrestlers placing in the top-six, East Stroudsburg University men's wrestling finished atop the team standings at the Albion Invitational on Sunday at Kresege Gymnasium.

The Warriors notched 147.5 points which was 19.5 more than the host Britons'. Pacing the Warriors was Jacob Remolina (149 pounds), Bryce Parenti (157 pounds) and Luke Ciampa (165 pounds) as the trio combined to go a perfect 13-0 while each winning their respective weight class.

ESU also earned three second place finishes with Brady Carter (125 pounds), Kelvin Rodriguez-Molina (133 pounds) and Josh Leidig (184 pounds) each finishing as the runners-up.

Additionally, four wrestlers took third place which included Joshua Jasionowicz (125 pounds), Eric Falleni (149 pounds), Jack Spahn (157 pounds) and Ajay Hiller (197 pounds).

Also placing for the Warriors was Brian Lombardi (5th – 149 pounds), Max Winkler (5th – 184 pounds), Ben Makaritis (6th – 125 pounds) and Thomas Flood (6th – 285 pounds).

Notables

• Jacob Remolina made easy work at 141 pounds, recording a 5-0 record with four falls, including in the first place match to come out on top
• Bryce Parenti grinded his way to first place at 157 pounds as he posted three decisions and a fall in the quarterfinals
• The final first place finish for ESU was Luke Ciampa at 165 pounds. Following a bye, Ciampa posted three consecutive pins, which included a 34 second decision in his first match, before winning 2-1 on a tie breaker in the finals. Ciampa is now 9-2 overall on the season.
• Making his ESU debut at 125 pounds, Brady Carter recorded a runner-up finished with a 4-1 record which included two pins, while Josh Jasionowicz took third after going 4-1 with three falls
• Kelvin Rodriguez-Molina continued his hot start to the season as the sophomore won his first three matches with a pair of tech falls and pin before falling in the championship at 133 pounds
• Josh Leidig earned runner-up honors at 184 pounds following a bye, a decision and a major decision in the semifinal. The junior ultimately fell to Owen McDaniel (Albion) by a major decision (12-4) in the finals
• Also wrestling at 149 pounds for the Warriors was Eric Falleni, who took third place following three straight wins which included an 8-5 decision in his final match
• Jack Spahn followed a similar path at 157 pounds, going 1-1 before rattling off a tech. fall and a pair of close decisions (2-0, 3-2) to finish third
• Ajay Hiller rounded out the third place finishes for ESU with the junior going 4-1 at 197 pounds. Hiller won a pair of consolation matches before earning a fall (3:37) over Albion's Bode Brown in the third place bout.
