EAST STROUDSBURG – The East Stroudsburg University men's wrestling team hosted the 55th Annual ESU Open and recorded a trio of third-place finishes on Sunday inside Koehler Fieldhouse.
Competing in this year's open was American International, Centenary, ESU, Kutztown, the Lost Boys Wrestling Club, Millersville, St. Benedict's Prep, Sussex County and a number of unattached wrestlers.
Highlighting the day for the Warriors was junior
Eric Falleni, sophomore
Luke Ciampa and sophomore
Ajay Hiller as the trio each finished third place in their respective weight classes.
Falleni went 3-1 while wrestling at 149 pounds, recording a pair of decisions and a technical fall. At 165 pounds, Ciampa notched two falls, which included pinning his opening opponent in 16 seconds as well as 8-2 decision in his final match. Hiller went 2-1 to secure a third place finish at 197 pounds as the sophomore earned two pins.
Sophomore
Kelvin Rodriguez-Molina (133 pounds) and junior
Zach Lewis (149 pounds) both went 2-2, while junior
Sergio Cespedes (165 pounds) was 1-2 to each earn fourth place finishes.
After both dropping their opening matches, sophomore
Josh Jasionowicz and junior
Jacob Remolina were both impressive to on their way to fifth place finishes at their respective weight classes. Jasionowicz produced three straight falls at 125 pounds and Remolina had four consecutive wins (three decisions) at 149 pounds.
Junior
Matthew Richardson went 3-2 at 197 pounds to finish sixth place and senior
Jack Dardia recorded a fall on his way to taking sixth at 141 pounds.
