EAST STROUDSBURG - East Stroudsburg University redshirt senior utility player Anthony Torreullas has been tabbed as this week's National Collegiate Writers Association (NCBWA) Atlantic Region Hitter of the Week, the organization announced on Tuesday.

This is the first time that Torreullas has garnered the award in his career, and he becomes the seventh hitter in program history to earn the weekly honors. The New Holland, Pa. native is also the first ESU player this season to be recognized by the NCBWA.

Torreullas supplied the offense for the Warriors in their opening weekend as finished with a .636 batting average, .909 slugging percentage and .667 on-base percentage.

The redshirt senior went 7-for-11, with his 12th career home run, four RBI, three runs scored and a stolen base. In the Warriors come-from-behind victory, Torreullas supplied a pair of insurance runs on a base hit in top of the ninth inning.
