Trio of Warriors Collect Conference Marks at Bison Outdoor Classic

BUCKNELL – Carlos Pepin (high jump), Tyler Boone (400m) and Raul Esteves (100m) each added PSAC automatic qualifying marks on the third and final day of Bucknell's Bison Outdoor Classic at Christy Mathewson-Memorial Stadium.

Running Highlights

On his way to a PSAC qualifying time in the 100m, Esteves took 23rd at 11.04 while Austin Nice was 59th after finishing in 11.42. Zephyr Crestwell (68th – 11.59) and Jared Williams (82nd – 12.02) also competed in the event.

Boone led the way for ESU in the 400m as he ran a PSAC qualifying time of 49.81 on his to taking 17th.  Zandrew Bowe was 34th at 50.81, followed by Sean Roberts in 37th with a time of 50.89. Trey Boyd (63rd – 52.40), Ryan Ditty (67th – 52.58) and Matt Linbrunner (84th – 54.93) wrapped up the finishes for the Warriors.

Competing in the 3000m, Camden Shaffer clocked a time of 9:30.96 and Koodsha Manjaro was not far behind at 9:34.31.

As the only Warrior competing in the mile run, Evan Wooby snagged a 12th place finish after finishing with a time of 4:39.74.

In the 4x100m relay, Roberts, Boone, Esteves, Nice took 10th after clocking a season-best time of 42.46.

With 186 runners in the 800m, Jordan Chong-Gayle was two second shy of a conference qualifying time at 1:59.47 while Luke Valdevit finished in 2:00.03.

On his way to taking 29th in the 110m hurdles, Ivan Hicks lowered his personal-best time to 15.82.  

In the 4x400m hurdles, Nasir Kyle was 19th at 59.08 and Liam Beifus clocked a time of 1:01.34.

Esteves closed out the day with a 24th place finish in the 200m at 22.52.

Field Event Highlights

Making his outdoor debut, Pepin finished tied for sixth in the high jump after clearing the bar at a PSAC qualifying height of 1.99m (6-6 ¼). The defending PSAC champion ranks second in the conference after his first meet. 

Hicks turned his attention to the sand pit where he took 15th in the triple jump with a season-best leap of 13.51m (44-4).

The Warriors record three top-25 finishes in the shot put as Cole Gorham led the way in 12th with a throw of 15.67m (51-5). Isaac Almoney took 19th at 14.69m (48-2 ½) and Will Mattei was 25th after notching a personal-best throw of 13.98m (45-10 ½).

Almoney returned to unleash a monster throw in the hammer as the sophomore took seventh with a personal-best mark of 55.51m (182-1), ranking third-best in program history. Daryn Blackwell finished 16th with a mark of 50.87m (166-10).
