EAST STROUDSBURG – Former East Stroudsburg University women's track and field standout Corinne Fitzgerald (2010-13) will compete in the 3000m steeplechase at the 2022 Toyota USATF Outdoor Championships on Friday, June 24, at 9:05 EST at the University of Oregon's Hayward Field Hayward Field in Eugene, OR.
Fitzgerald will have the chance to represent United States as this meet will serve as the qualifying event for the 2022 World Athletics Championships. The top three athletes in each event will gain a place on Team USA.
Fitzgerald was a three-time NCAA participant in the 3000m steeplechase in her time wearing the red and black and currently holds the school record with a time 10:37.95, set back in 2013. Additionally, she competed at the NCAA Championships for cross country as a sophomore, was a two-time Academic All-America, the ESU Female Senior Scholar-Athlete of the Year and a PSAC Spring Top 10 selection.
