LOCK HAVEN, Pa. -- East Stroudsburg University women's track and field athlete Porschia Bennett was named the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Field Athlete of the Week, the league announced on Tuesday.
Bennett earned the honor after a strong performance at Saturday's Danny Curran Invitational, where she placed first in the high jump with a clearance of 1.70 meters (5 feet 7 inches). Competing in her first outdoor meet of the season, she secured the victory while also recording both an automatic PSAC qualifying mark and an NCAA provisional mark.
Her mark currently ranks first in the conference, tied for first in the region, and tied for third nationally. The award marks Bennett's second outdoor weekly honor and third overall of her career.
