EAST STROUDSBURG – The East Stroudsburg University baseball team will introduce the 10th class of its "Bat Club" on Saturday, Oct. 1 in conjunction with their scrimmage and alumni/family picnic at Creekview Park.

Due to inclement weather, the Warriors' scrimmage on Saturday at Creekview Park as been canceled. However, ESU will still induct the 10th class of it's "Bat Club" from 1-2 p.m. inside Koehler Fieldhouse. Four Warriors – outfielder/pitcher Ian Allen (2014-17), second baseman Ryan Guarino (2009-12), outfielder Bob Siemon (1985-87) and catcher Steven Zimmerman (2015-18) – join 31 previous inductees.
Previous inductees to the Bat Club are - pitcher/shortstop Joel Bennett, outfielder J.D. Information on the Bat Club honorees is below:
Ian Allen (2014-2017) – Allen was a three-time All-PSAC East selection, two-time NCBWA All-Atlantic Region honoree and D2CCA All-Region 2nd Team choice his senior season. Serving as both an outfielder and pitcher, the East Aurora, N.Y. native was just the second ESU and sixth PSAC player to record 150 hits and strikeouts in his career. At the time, he was also the conference's third player with 100 career stolen bases.
Allen finished his career at ESU ranking in the top-10 of 14 offensive categories, including 3 school records for stolen bases (101), walks (109) and times reached base (327). He was second in seven categories - HR (18), extra-base hits (68), total bases (311), stolen base % (89.4), runs (162), RBI (132) and games (189 - t-2nd), 7th in doubles (40), t-8th in hits (197) and in triples (10), 14th in on-base % (.440) also 18th in slugging % (.515).
Ryan Guarino (2009-12) – The Jackson, N.J. native was an All-PSAC East Second Team selection at second base his senior year, finishing his career with an 18-game hitting streak. That year he played in 38 games (37 starts), hitting .358 with a .437 on-base-percentage. Guarino had a double, a home run, 14 RBI, 28 runs and was 13-for-15 on stolen bases.
Guarino finished his time at ESU ranked 15th in career hits (149), 12th in runs (106), 21st in RBI (77), 8th in SB (35), tied for 7th in walks (67), tied for 4th in HBP (21), 7th in assists (303) and 11th in games (160). He was career .336 hitter, hitting over .300 all four seasons while posting a .439 on-base percentage which was 5th among 4-year players in school history. Guarino was a part of 109 wins over four years and served as a start on the 2010 and 2011 PSAC Tournament teams. The 2011 NCAA Tournament team went on to finish third in the Atlantic Region.
Bob Siemon (1985-87) – The Phillipsburg, N.J. native was an All-PSAC East selection in the outfield during the 1986 season, in which he paced the Warriors in home runs as well as RBI. In 1987, Siemon led the team in batting average (.377), hits (52), home runs (6) and RBI (39) while adding nine doubles, four triples and hitting safely over the last 15 games. In his first season wearing the red and black, Siemon recorded a team-high .367 batting average.
Steven Zimmerman (2015-18) – Zimmerman was a three-time All-PSAC selection and the first catcher in program history to earn a spot on the D2CCA and ABCA All-Region teams. The Pine Grove native finished his career with a .304 batting average, .560 slugging percentage and .428 on-base percentage across 179 games.
Zimmerman wrapped up his time wearing the red black as the program's all-time home run leader with 22 as well as ranked in the top-10 of eight offensive categories. He was 7th in extra-base hits (59), t-7th in RBI (114), t-9th in runs (129), 9th in walks (81), t-10th in doubles (33) and games played, 11th in total bases (261), t-11th in times reached base (271) and 19th in career hits (154).
