Warriors Men’s Soccer Places Seven on All-PSAC East Teams

LOCK HAVEN – The Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference announced on Tuesday afternoon that the East Stroudsburg University men’s soccer team had seven selections to the All-PSAC East teams.

Landing on the All-PSAC East First team were Pieter Neerhof, Bradley Turocy, Colby Raymond and Ignasi Cucurella Tuset. Cayetano Diaz, Nathan Bradway and Brayden Evans earned All-PSAC East Second Team honors. 

Neerhof, a sophomore, earns All-PSAC East First Team honors for the second consecutive season for the Warriors. The native of The Netherlands started in all 15 games he appeared in, scoring a goal as a defender against Shippensburg earlier this season. Neerhof, who was named the All-PSAC East Freshman of the Year a season ago, helped limit opposing squads to a 1.12 goals against average, which ranks sixth in the PSAC and 57th in the country. Neerhof helped limit opposing offenses to one or zero goals in 10 of the 15 games he played in. In two seasons, Neerhof has recorded four goals on six shots on goal, playing 2,751 minutes in 33 games. 

Turocy earns his first All-PSAC East First Team honor and his third all-conference selection overall after earning second-team selections during his freshman (2019) and sophomore (2021) seasons. The Bethlehem native recorded five goals and three assists for 13 points this season, willing ESU to a 2-2 tie with a pair of second-half goals against Lock Haven. He registered a pair of game-winning goals against Shepherd and in his season finale at West Chester last week. In his four-year career, Turocy appeared in 72 games, making 43 starts, while recording 22 goals and seven assists for 51 points.   

Raymond lands on the All-PSAC East First Team for the second time in his career and earns all-conference recognition for the third time in three seasons after an appearance on the second team a season ago. The product of Kingwood, N.J. led ESU with nine goals and 21 points, adding three assists in another excellent season. He ranked sixth in the conference in points per game and fifth in goals per game. The exercise science major has been season of eligibility remaining. In 48 career games, Raymond has totaled 18 goals and 13 assists for 49 points.

Cucurella Tuset earns all-conference honors for the first time in his carer and lands the All-PSAC East First Team. A key cog of the Warrior offense, Cucurella Tuset led the Warrior offense with six assists and ranked second with seven goals and 20 points. His six assists ranked seventh in the PSAC and 54th in the country. The native of Barcelona provided points in seven contests, with multiple points in six contests. He scored a pair of goals against Molloy in an early non-conference game and added three points with a goal and an assist against Lock Haven on Oct. 19. In three seasons at ESU, Cucurella Tuset has started in 20 contests and appeared in 47 total games, compiling 10 goals and seven assists for 27 points. 

Diaz is named to the All-PSAC East Team for the first time in his career. The sophomore totaled two goals and an assist for five points as a defender. He made 16 starts and 17 appearances, help limiting opponents’ offenses to one or two goals in 12 contests. Diaz found the back of the net against Molloy and Shippensburg and distributed an assist against District of Columbia.

Bradway, a sophomore, picks up his second consecutive All-PSAC East Second Team honor. The native of Wynewood started in every game except senior night, recording three goals and four assists for 10 points. He started his second season in the Red and Black on a tear, with four points against Felician, along with recording two assists against Bloomfield, and added a goal against Shepherd, compiling eight points in the first five games of the season. He later added a goal against Saint Thomas Aquinas. Along with holding a role defensively, Bradway helped ESU outscore its opponents, 38-19, on the season. 

Evans earns All-PSAC East for the first time in his career after an impressive season in goal for the Warriors. Splitting time with Helgi Hermannsson in net, Evans posted a 4-1-3 record with three shutouts, allowing just six goals in nine games in 726 minutes of action. Appearing in nine of ESU’s 17 games, Evans earned PSAC East Defensive Athlete of the Week three times throughout the season. He totaled 29 saves with a .829 save percentage and a .74 goals against average. He allowed multiple goals in a single game just twice.

ESU completed the 2023 season with an 8-3-6 overall record.
