EAST STROUDSBURG – Following an excellent season on the pitch and in the classroom, East Stroudsburg University men's soccer midfielder
Ignasi Cucurella Tuset has been named to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-America Third Team, the organization announced on Tuesday afternoon.
Cucurella Tuset, an All-PSAC East First Team and D2CCA Atlantic Region Second Team selection this season, becomes the sixth Warrior to earn CSC Academic All-America status and is the ninth selection overall in program history. He is the first Warrior to earn the honor in 10 seasons.
On the pitch, Cucurella Tuset led ESU with six assists, and ranked just behind
Colby Raymond in goals (7) and points (20). He tied for seventh in the PSAC in assists and ninth in points per game.
Cucurella Tuset made starts in 16 of 17 games on the season, recording at least one point in seven contests with multiple points in six games. The native of Barcelona currently holds a 3.79 GPA as a physical education major.
The Division II and III CSC Academic All-America® programs are partially financially supported by the NCAA Division II and III national governance structures to assist CSC with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2022-23 Divisions II and III Academic All-America® programs.
