Lock Haven, Pa. -- After an impressive performance that saw four extra-base hits in a doubleheader against Queens (N.Y.), the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference announced on Monday afternoon that Denva Shaw-Tait was selected as the PSAC East Athlete of the Week.
Shaw-Tait blasted her first home run of the season in game one against the Knights on Wed., March 1 on a two-run home run. She also connected on a triple in both ends of the doubleheader against Queens, along with smacking a double in game two.
On the season, the New Zealand native paces the Warriors in batting average (.417), slugging percentage (.875), along with OPS (1.356) and ranks second on the team in doubles with four in nine contests played.
The PSAC weekly honor is the first of her career.
The Warriors (6-6) open the PSAC East slate on Wednesday at Shippensburg. First pitches against the Raiders are scheduled for 1:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m.
