WEST CHESTER – The 12/14th-ranked East Stroudsburg University baseball team dropped the PSAC East series opener to West Chester, 6-0, on Friday afternoon at Serpico Stadium.
Losing their third consecutive game, the Warriors go to 30-8 on the season and 11-5 in the PSAC East while the Golden Rams improve to 24-12 overall and 10-6 in the conference.

- The Warriors were limited to three hits offensively as Jeremy Piatkiewicz recorded a pair of singles, while Cameron Hubbard had a base knock. Senior Logan Stirr worked a pair of free passes
- West Chester's Julian Costa fired a 9.0 inning complete game shutout and struck out seven
- The Golden Rams had four players with two-plus hits and Luke Cantwell recorded a trio of RBI
- Graduate student Chase Nowak (8-2) suffered the loss after surrendering four runs (three earned) on seven hits, while striking out four in 5.0 innings
- Entering the game with the third most stolen bases on NCAA DII, ESU failed to swipe a bag for only the fourth time this season
- In this week's polls, the Warriors were No. 2 in the NCBWA Atlantic Region Roll, receiving a pair of first-place votes and were slotted No. 14 in the NCBWA Top 25. ESU was No. 12 in the Collegiate Baseball Division II Poll and ranked high as No. 7 by the Perfect Game Top 25

The Golden Rams grabbed a 3-0 lead in the bottom of the first inning when Cantwell belted a three-run home run to left field.
West Chester would add one run in each of the fourth, sixth and seventh innings to make the final score 6-0.
