RUTHERFORD, N.J. – Holding a 2-1 lead at the break, the East Stroudsburg University men's soccer team used a pair of second half goals to pull away from Felician, 4-1, in the season opener on Thursday afternoon at Tyron Field.
The Warriors start 1-0 for the third consecutive season and defeat the Golden Eagle (0-1) for the sixth straight time dating back to 2017.
Notables
· Nathan Bradway led the charge for the Warriors as the sophomore tallied four points with one goal and two assists. Bradway scored ESU's final goal in the 64th minute and matched his assist total from his freshman campaign.
· Junior Ignasi Cucurella Tuset scored the Warriors' first goal of the season in the 24th minute off a pass from Bradway
· Trevor Paone extended ESU's advantage to 2-0 in the 36th minute when the graduate student converted a penalty kick
· Two-time All-PSAC East selection Colby Raymond provided cushion for ESU in the 48th minute, scoring his 10th career goal to put the Warriors ahead 3-1
· Overall, ESU led 17-14 in shots, 9-5 in shots on goal and 5-4 on corner kicks
