LOCK HAVEN, Pa., -- After making seven saves and helping ESU to a 1-1 draw against Bloomsburg, the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference announced on Monday afternoon that Warrior goalkeeper Helgi Hermannsson was selected as the PSAC East Defensive Athlete of the Week.

The Iceland native did not allow a goal for the first 85 minutes against the Huskies, until a headed-in corner kick tied the matchup and ultimately forced a draw. On the season, Hermannsson has allowed just two goals in 180 minutes of action against Felician and Bloomsburg, combing for 11 saves.

Fellow Warrior goalkeeper, Brayden Evans was honored last week as the conference east division athlete of the week. Hermansson and Evans have led ESU's strong defense that ranks third in the conference in goals-against average and eighth nationally in goal-differential.

Hermannsson and the Warriors head to Lock Haven on Wed., Sept. 20 before returning home to Eiler-Martin Stadium.
