DANVILLE, Va. — The East Stroudsburg men's wrestling team had nine wrestlers place, with three earning top-two finishes at the Averett Cougar Open on Sunday.

Parrish McFarland (157) claimed first place, while Robert Burke (174) and Joshua Jasionowicz (125) finished second in their respective weight classes. Marc Kleyman (157) and Layton Schmick (285) placed sixth, and Matthew Richardson (197) took seventh. Brian Lombardi (149) (Pictured Above), Evan Thompson (133), and Max Winkler (174) rounded out the placements with eighth-place finishes.
 
Notables
 

• McFarland went a perfect 5-0 to capture first place, including three first-period pins and a tech fall.
• Burke earned a pin and two decision wins by more than five points, with his only loss coming in sudden victory in the final.
• Jasionowicz recorded a first-period pin and a 5-2 decision on his way to second place.
• Lombardi and Schmick each won five matches on their way to placement. Lombardi had two tech falls, a pin, and a major decision, while Schmick recorded four pins and a tech fall.
