Indianapolis, Ind. – The East Stroudsburg University men's wrestling team finished the first day of the 45th Midwest Classic, hosted by the University of Indianapolis. Layton Schmick (pictured above) is the only remaining wrestler for the Warriors.

Schmick, the No. 12 wrestler at 285 pounds in the country, had two wins: a 5-3 decision and a 6-5 decision. He will continue to wrestle in the consolation bracket tomorrow, competing for a third-place finish.

Senior Josh Jasionowicz managed to have a second-period pin over the 10th-ranked 125-pound wrestler in the nation. Robert Burke, the previous PSAC Wrestling Athlete of the Week, managed two wins: an 18-0 tech fall and an 8-2 decision.
