Men’s Track & Field Concludes Bison Outdoor Classic

LEWISBURG – The East Stroudsburg University men's track and field team concluded Bucknell's Bison Outdoor Classic on Sunday by adding five additional PSAC automatic qualifying times at Christy Mathewson-Memorial Stadium.  

Registering conference times in their respective events for the Warriors was Tim Gale (800m), Zephyr Crestwell (400m), Zandrew Bowe (400m), Ryan Ditty (400m) and Bryson Gilchrist (100m).

Running Highlights

On ESU's way to a fourth place finish in the 4x100m relay, the quartet of Jack Gorham, Tyler Boone, Gilchrist and Miguel Charlery clocked the seventh fastest time in program history at 41.48.

On his way to a 32nd place finish out of 157 runners in the 800m invitational, Gale ran a PSAC automatic qualifying time of 1:53.65, which ranks sixth all-time in the record books.

Ragiariki Lewis rounded out the top-10 in the 110m hurdles as the freshman crossed the line in a personal-best time of 15.04, while Joshua Rand took 23rd at a season-best 15.57.

Boone paced a handful of Warriors in the 400m with a ninth place finish as the junior clocked a personal-best time of 48.10 to remain at sixth all-time in school history. Crestwell took 27th at 49.24, Bowe followed in 41st at 49.73 and Ditty finished in 44th at 49.81 as the trio each ran a PSAC automatic qualifying time.

In the 100m, Gilchrist ran a PSAC automatic qualifying time of 10.79 to finish in 20th place while Ben Terry (85th – 11.28) and Zandray Thompson (90th – 11.31) also compete for ESU.

Liam Beifus recorded a 15th place finish in the 400m hurdles after crossing the line in a season-best 55.56, Lewis took 26th with a time of 57.30 and Rand (1:01.88) came in 46th.

In the 200m, Charlery claimed a 12th place finish with a time of 21.82 and Thompson took 90th at 23.20.

In the mile, freshman Liam Hansberry notched a 28th place finish after running a time of 4:39.82.

Field Highlights

In the hammer, Isaac Almoney notched a fifth place finish with a season-best throw of 56.27m (184-7) and Anthony Voto followed in sixth after recording a mark of 55.50m (182-1).

Jaden Johnson led a trio of Warriors in the triple jump as the sophomore notched a ninth place finish with a leap of 14.28m (46-10 ¼) while Samuel Chedester (13.48m – 44-2 ¾) and Nasir Heard (13.26m – 43-6) took 27th and 31st respectively.

Chris Costa finished in a tie for ninth in the pole vault as the sophomore eclipsed the bar at a season-best height of 4.45m (14-7 ¼).

It's a quick turnaround for ESU as the Warriors travel to Shippensburg on Wednesday for the Mid-Week Invitational which is scheduled to get underway at 3 p.m. from Seth Grove Stadium
