LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The National Fastpitch Coaches Association announced on Thursday that East Stroudsburg University freshman pitcher Sarah Davenport was selected to the NFCA All-Region First Team.
Davenport has been one of the top pitchers in the nation all season, currently holding a 25-6 record and a 1.35 ERA. Entering the day, she leads the nation in strikeouts and strikeouts-per-seven innings, while ranking fourth in strikeout-to-walk ratio, fifth in wins, ninth in saves, 14th in WHIP, and 25th in ERA. After breaking the single-season school record with her 187th strikeout at Bloomsburg on April 10th, Davenport became the first Warrior to eclipse 200 and now 300 strikeouts in a single season.
The Hillsborough, N.J. native was previously honored as the PSAC East Pitcher of the Year, PSAC East Freshman of the Year, and the All-PSAC East First Team. She was named the PSAC East Pitcher of the Week three times in 2024, along with NFCA National Pitcher of the Week accolades in the final week of the regular season.
Davenport joins teammate Paige Zigmund (2023) as the only Warriors to earn NFCA All-Region First Team honors as a pitcher. Marah Range (2021) joins the duo as the lone pitchers to receive NFCA All-Region recognition, landing on the second team. Davenport and Zigmund join Mary Wallick (2017, 3B), Jen Veronesi (2006, SS), and Ashley Miller (2006, OF) as NFCA All-Region First Team honorees.
Davenport and the Warriors, who defeated Bowie State 11-1 in their first NCAA DII Atlantic Regional contest, will battle Kutztown on Friday at 11:00 a.m.
