NAPERVILLE, Ill. — The ESU women's wrestling team traveled out to Illinois for its last competition of 2025, earning three placements at the North Central Invite.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Isabella Washington-Vasquez had the highest finish of any Warrior on the day, ending in fourth place in the 117-pound B weight class bracket. After splitting two matches and moving to the consolation bracket, she bounced back with three-straight wins. Washington-Vasquez pinned Indiana Tech's Courtni Chuway, then defeated Elmhurst's Valentina Fantoni by decision. Her last win came against Hollis Nelson from Wisconsin-Stevens Point by fall before falling in the third-place match.
- Teegan Sibble went 3-3 on the day to earn a sixth-place finish in the 110-pound weight class bracket. Sibble started with two wins, beating Elmhurst's Veronica Cosio by technical fall, and pinning King's Avery Kibelbek. After moving to the consolation bracket, she defeated Colorado Mesa's Adriana Gomez by technical fall for her third and final win of the tournament.
- ESU's third placement of the day came from Ariel Manning in the 131-pound B bracket. She opened with a technical fall win over Madelyn Quintana from Adams State. Rebounding off a loss, she picked up another technical fall win against Elmhurst's Nyima Outlaw and then pinned Bella Curcuru from Elmhurst.
