EAST STROUDSBURG, Pa. – The East Stroudsburg University baseball team dropped the series finale to Frostburg State, suffering its first losing streak of the season.
The Warriors (11-2) recorded seven hits and drew two walks but struggled to capitalize, leaving seven runners on base. The Bobcats (8-3) relied on strong pitching and consistent offense to secure their second win of the series.
Pitching Notables
Cole Dymek and
Caden Parker combined for 3.2 innings out of the bullpen, allowing just two baserunners.
Batting Notables
Shanley Wall went 2-for-4 and drove in one of ESU's two runs.
Parker Frey and
Francisco Taveras each reached base twice, with Taveras driving in ESU's first run on a triple. Frey added two singles.
How it happened
Frostburg State jumped out early, scoring in each of the first four innings before adding another run in the sixth.
ESU responded in the third when
Jackson Rutecki singled and scored on Taveras' triple. Wall followed with an RBI single, cutting the deficit to one.
The Warriors threatened again in the eighth, putting a runner in scoring position after two hits, but they were unable to push another run across. The Bobcats held on for a 5-2 victory.
