CORALVILLE, Iowa – Tiffani Baublitz secured third place at the NCWWC National Championships on Saturday, becoming the highest finisher in program history. She matched her best career finish after also placing third in 2023 while competing for King.
As a team, the Warriors finished 16th out of 55 teams at the national championships.
Baublitz rebounded from a tough match against the nation's top-ranked 160-pound wrestler, winning her next two bouts to claim third place.
In the consolation semifinals, she edged out a 7-5 decision to advance to a rematch against a familiar opponent from Gannon. On Friday, Baublitz dominated their first meeting with a 10-0 technical fall 5:16 into the match. In the third-place match, she once again prevailed, this time earning a 9-0 decision.
With her third-place finish, Baublitz surpassed Tatyana Ortiz, who placed fourth in 2020, as the highest finisher for a Warrior at the NCWWC National Championships. She also became the seventh Warrior to earn All-America honors.
Baublitz concludes her redshirt senior season with a career record of 86-16, a three-time All-American, and a two-time top three finisher at nationals.
