BLOOMSBURG, Pa. - East Stroudsburg jumped out to a commanding lead and never looked back, taking down Bloomsburg 16–8 in a key PSAC East matchup on Wednesday evening.
The Warriors (10–4, 7–2 PSAC East) came out firing, scoring six goals in the first quarter and adding six more in the second to take a dominant 12–2 halftime lead. Senior midfielder Lauren Hallman led the charge with a game-high six goals, while Sadie Kauffman and Ariana Tucci each posted six points, combining for seven goals and five assists.
East Stroudsburg's ball movement was crisp and purposeful, with Tucci dishing out three assists and adding three goals of her own. Kauffman, who tallied four goals and two assists, was also a force on draw controls and ground balls.
Defensively,  senior goalkeeper Abby Simonetti stood tall for ESU, making 12 saves on 20 shots on goal, anchoring a unit that caused several turnovers and limited Bloomsburg to just three goals through three quarters.
Despite the Huskies' late push, East Stroudsburg's early offensive explosion proved too much to overcome. The Warriors were sharp on clears (18-of-23) and finished the game with 13 draw controls.
With the win, East Stroudsburg strengthens its push toward postseason positioning, while Bloomsburg looks to regroup after another tough conference loss.
