LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – The 11th-ranked East Stroudsburg University baseball team received its second straight weekly award as redshirt senior Dennis Pierce was honored as the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Eastern Division Athlete of the Week, announced by the league office on Monday.

In the Warriors' four-game sweep of Mansfield, Pierce hit .529 (9-for-17) with a 1.176 slugging percentage and .619 on-base percentage as he recorded two doubles, three home runs, 12 RBIs and six runs scored. The Quakertown, Pa. native has recorded six home runs in the last six games as leads the PSAC with 10 home runs this season.

Among PSAC rankings, Pierce is first in slugging percentage (.877), second in RBIs (40), fourth in on-base percentage (.514) and fifth in batting average (.407).

Today's PSAC East weekly award marked the third for ESU this season as junior Shanley Wall (Feb. 25) and senior Jack Rothenhausler (March 31) were previously named East Athletes of the Week.

Pierce and the Warriors return to Creekview Park on Wednesday as ESU battles Pace in a non-conference nine-inning game beginning at 3 p.m.
