Game Notes
About the Warriors:East Stroudsburg boasts one of the most feared lineups in the Atlantic Region, combining raw power with plate discipline and speed.
Jack Rothenhausler is the engine of the offense. The senior infielder leads the PSAC in RBIs (61) and doubles (18) and has rewritten the ESU record books in nearly every major offensive category. He enters the postseason with a .320 batting average, .450 on-base percentage, and .646 slugging percentage.
Dennis Pierce, a transfer from Valdosta State, quickly established himself as one of the most dangerous hitters in the nation. His 15 home runs are a new ESU single-season record and rank second in the PSAC. With a .733 slugging percentage, .369 average, and .483 OBP, Pierce adds middle-of-the-order firepower that few teams can match.
Shanley Wall, leads the conference in walks (38) and sacrifice flies (7). Walker Zampella, has swiped 31 bags, the second-highest total in the PSAC.
Collectively, ESU is hitting .294 as a team, with a robust .464 slugging percentage, 122 stolen bases, and a knack for delivering in clutch situations.
The Warriors boast a .980 team fielding percentage, one of the best in the PSAC and well above the national average.
Middle infielders Walker Zampella and Francisco Taveras have formed a reliable double-play duo, helping ESU turn 41 double plays, second most in the conference.
Caden Parker, the First Team All-PSAC reliever, has been nearly untouchable. With a 0.95 ERA, nine saves, and a .185 opponent batting average, he locks down late-inning leads with poise and power.
Ethan Woods has proven himself as a front-line starter, compiling a 2.06 ERA with 32 strikeouts in 43.2 innings. Opposing hitters are managing just .180 against him.
The Coach: In his 18th season at the helm, John Kochmansky has guided the Warriors to 527 wins, now seven NCAA Tournament appearances and a PSAC title in 2013. This marks the fourth consecutive season ESU has made it to the big dance.
Scouting Fairmont State: Fairmont State enters regional play at 27–26, but don’t let the record fool you — this is a veteran team with a deep lineup and strong situational hitting. The Falcons placed seven players on the All-MEC teams, including:
Quintin Reep (.336 AVG, 42 RBIs): First Team outfielder with extra-base pop.
Ryan Goff (.345 AVG): The team’s top overall hitter with 63 hits and 17 doubles.
Tyler Haskins (13-for-13 SB, 30 walks)
Micah Canterbury (5–2, .265 BAA)
The Coach: Fairmont State is led by head coach Matt Yurish, who took over the program on May 24, 2021. Yurish enters his fourth year at the helm in 2025. Prior to Fairmont State, Yurish served as the head coach at Alderson Broaddus University, where he achieved two 20-win seasons, made three postseason appearances, and coached 19 all-conference standouts.
