GREENSBORO, N.C. — The American Baseball Coaches Association has named outfielder
Dennis Pierce, third baseman
Jack Rothenhausler, and pitcher
Ethan Woods to the ABCA/Rawlings Division II All-Atlantic Region teams.
Pierce earned his third All-Atlantic Region First Team honor of the postseason, having previously been named to the first team by the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) and the Division II Conference Commissioners Association (D2CCA). He becomes a unanimous First Team All-Atlantic Region selection and is now eligible for ABCA All-America honors, which will be announced Friday, May 30. This season, Pierce hit a school-record 18 home runs and posted a 1.241 OPS (on-base plus slugging percentage).
Rothenhausler also secured his third All-Atlantic Region honor of the postseason. He was named to the first team by the D2CCA and to the second team by the NCBWA. In his senior season, Rothenhausler recorded a 1.062 OPS in 169 at-bats, hitting a career-high 10 home runs and driving in a school-record 64 RBIs.
Woods earned his first All-Atlantic Region honor, being selected to the second team after being named to the PSAC East First Team earlier this month. In 13 appearances, Woods has compiled a 1.91 ERA over 47.0 innings with a 1.00 WHIP (walks plus hits per inning pitched) and 33 strikeouts.
