GREENSBORO, N.C. — The American Baseball Coaches Association has named outfielder
Dennis Pierce to the ABCA/Rawlings Division II All-America Third Team.
It marks Pierce's second consecutive All-America honor, after earning All-America recognition last season at Valdosta State. In 58 games with East Stroudsburg, he posted a .369/.473/.768 slash line and set a school record with 18 home runs, including a clutch grand slam that helped lead the Warriors to the Atlantic Super Region Championship last week. This is the second straight season ESU has landed a ABCA/Rawlings All-America selection, last season
Brent Francisco was a first team honoree.
Pierce and the Warriors are now competing in the Division II Baseball Championship at the USA Baseball National Training Complex in Cary, North Carolina. They open play today at noon against Lenoir-Rhyne.
