Payton Falkenstein has been named the PSAC Athlete of the Week for women's cross country, the conference announced Tuesday afternoon.
Falkenstein turned in a standout performance at the UMass Dartmouth Invitational this past weekend. She crossed the line first for the Warriors and finished 14th overall in a field of 275 runners, clocking a time of 21:53.41. Falkenstein was also the top Division II finisher at the meet.
Led by Falkenstein's effort, the Warriors delivered their strongest team performance of the season, securing eighth place out of 36 teams in the highly competitive gold division with 228 points. ESU was the top Division II program in the race.
Falkenstein's time also stands as the fastest 6k mark by any female PSAC runner this season.
The Warriors will return to action Friday, October 3 at the Paul Short Run hosted by Lehigh University.
