MANHEIM, Pa. — The ESU women's wrestling team had two athletes ranked nationally in their weight classes, with
Tiffani Baublitz earning fourth place and
Teegan Sibble being slotted in at seventh, helping the Warriors jump to a tie for 14th place in the national rankings by the National Wrestling Coaches Association.
In the Warriors' latest competition, the team went undefeated at the Ursinus Duals, with Baublitz going 2-0 and Sibble winning her only match of the day. Baublitz pinned McDaniel's Willow Arnold and York's Kylie Monroe, and Sibble defeated Ursinus' Olivia Guy by fall as well. Baublitz is the fourth-ranked wrestler in the 160-pound weight class, and Sibble holds seventh place in the 110-pound weight class.
The Warriors kept their first-place ranking in the regional poll, finishing with 72 points in the Region 2 standings. Baublitz was ranked first, and Sibble was ranked second, while
Ragan Retell earned first place in the 138-pound weight class. Also earning regional rankings were
Yianna Foufas (3
rd, 117 pounds),
Maddie Westerberg (3
rd, 180 pounds),
Olivia Klein (4
th, 103 pounds),
Selina Moore (4
th, 145 pounds), and
Olivia Palmer (5
th, 124 pounds).
The Warriors return to Ursinus tomorrow to compete in the Will Abele Open, beginning at 10 a.m. tomorrow.
