Women's Track and Field Earn Three First Place Finishes at Ramapo

MAHWAH, N.J. -- The East Stroudsburg University women's track and field team earned three first place finishes in the field events and added three more PSAC qualifying marks at Ramapo on Friday.

Capturing first place finishes in their respective events were Porschia Bennett (high jump), Aina Galan (pole vault), and Shannon Harnett (triple jump). 

PSAC Automatic Qualifiers  

Track Events 

In the 400m, Aaliyah Cancel placed seventh with a time of 58.70 to earn an automatic PSAC qualifying mark. Eyinah Smith placed 22nd with a time of 1:03.42. 

Lilah Matthew placed 17th in the 800m, while Gabriela Orama placed 20th (2:39.11) and 19th in the mile (5:45.94).  

Field Events 

Porschia Bennett won the high jump with a jump of 1.68m, earning a PSAC qualifying mark and a NCAA Provisional mark.

Aina Galan placed first in the pole vault, earning a PSAC qualifying mark with a jump of 3.67m. Galan's performance is now the second best in program history.  

Shannon Harnett posted the Warrior's third win in the triple jump. With a jump of 11.85m, she earned an automatic PSAC qualifying mark and a NCAA Provisional mark.

In the shot put, Gabriela Pifano placed second (12.61m), which earned an automatic PSAC qualifying mark. Her throw ranks ninth best in program history. 

Emily Edelman placed fourth in both the shot put and the weight throw. 

Aoife McCauley placed fifth in the high jump (1.48m) and fourth in the long jump (5.14m). Victoria Phillips placed 11th in the long jump and fifth in the triple jump.
