FROSTBURG, Md. — The ESU women's wrestling team competed in its final tournament of the regular season, picking up nine top-five placements that were highlighted by
Teegan Sibble's 110-pound bracket championship and Outstanding Wrestler of the Event nod.
NOTABLES
- Sibble went 4-0 in her bracket, winning three matches by fall, including the championship. She began by pinning Presbyterian's Sloane Kruger in 2:22 and Katie Ramsay in 1:58, advancing to the finals off a 14-4 technical fall win over Combat School's Timi Coles in 2:54. Going against Jaclyn Bouzakis from Wyoming Seminary, the top-ranked high school wrestler in the class, she pinned her in 1:44 for the crown.
- Two Warriors finished as bracket runners-up, as Ragan Retell and Tiffani Baublitz earned the top-two finishes. Retell defeated two of her teammates and won 10-0 in 1:40 over Southern Virginia's Seani Casperson for her three wins in the 138-pound bracket. For Baublitz, she won her first two matches by fall and then next two by technical fall, narrowly dropping a 6-4 decision in the final match.
- ESU had three wrestlers each finish in fourth and fifth place in their respective brackets. For the fourth-place finishers, they were Gianna Amendola, who went 5-2 at 131 pounds, Carney Wyble, who went 3-2 at 138 pounds, and Selina Moore, who went 4-2 at 145 pounds. For the fifth-place finishers, Olivia Klein split four matches at 103 pounds, Jillian Patterson went 3-2 at 117 pounds, and Patricia Deslandes won two and lost two at 207 pounds.
