PSAC Scholar-Athlete (2023)
2025 Season Highlights: Jaden Newton brought resilience and flashes of dominance to the mound in his junior campaign, appearing in 10 games and working 11.2 innings for the squad. He recorded 11 strikeouts, allowed just five walks, and delivered scoreless outings in six appearances—including strong postseason efforts against Lenoir-Rhyne (May 30) and Central Missouri (June 3), where he tossed a hitless frame with no walks.
Newton’s sharpest outing came on February 24 vs. D’Youville, where he pitched 2.0 innings of one-run ball without issuing a free pass. He also fanned multiple batters in four different games, led by a two-strikeout relief appearance against Mansfield (Apr. 3) and a high-traffic but composed frame vs. Caldwell (Mar. 11).
While navigating a range of situations out of the bullpen, Newton showed the tools to neutralize hitters and demonstrated improvements in command and confidence late in the season. In the field, he added two assists and turned a double play, bringing alertness and athleticism off the mound.
