EAST STROUDSBURG – The East Stroudsburg University men's soccer program was recognized by the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) for its academic excellence on Wednesday, as the conference announced the top cumulative team grade-point averages for each of its sponsored sports.
The ESU men's soccer team posted a 3.416 cumulative team GPA during the 2019-20 academic year, which was tops among the 13 schools in the PSAC that participate in men's soccer.
As a whole, Warrior student-athletes combined for a 3.289 cumulative GPA, with the ESU women's cross country team posting the highest mark (3.559) among the University's programs. The ESU women's basketball (3.546), women's golf (3.537) and women's swimming (3.502) teams also finished above the 3.5 cumulative GPA mark.
The 18 schools in the PSAC averaged a 3.304 student-athlete GPA this year. Since the awards began in 2011-12, the GPA for the conference has increased every year. Nine of the 18 schools in the conference had at least one of its teams claim the highest GPA in their respective sport.
