ESU Baseball Looks to Build Off Record-Breaking 2022 Season

ESU Baseball (41-20) put together one of their best campaigns to date in 2022, setting the single-season record for wins and finding themselves one game away from advancing to the NCAA Division II Baseball National Championships in Cary, N.C. for the first time.

Notables

- Jack Rothenhausler was named the PSAC East Freshman of the Year and ESU had five All-PSAC East selections including redshirt senior Brock Kauffman, redshirt sophomore Ben Piripavel, redshirt sophomore Brent Francisco and graduate student Chase Nowak earning First Team honors while CJ Peechatka landed on the Second Team

- Peechatka finished his lone season with the Warriors by reaching base in the last 33 games of the season

- Redshirt senior Brainy Rojas wrapped up his career with the school record for walks (134) and times reached base (338), while finishing tied for second in runs scored (162), second for stolen bases with 79 and third in games played at 194

- Kauffman concluded one of the best careers in program history by leaving with school records in hits (228), RBI (168), doubles (57), extra-base hits (84) and total bases (358). The Blue Ball, Pa. native played the second most games all-time at 199, slugged the fourth most home runs (19) and scored the sixth most runs (145)

- Redshirt senior Nate Fiala set the single-season record for games pitched with 27 and finished his career with 60 appearances, which ranks fourth in the all-time record books

- Rothenhausler finished the season with ESU freshman records for hits (55), doubles (17), home runs (7), RBI (35), runs scored (36), extra base hits (26) and total bases (97)
