LOCK HAVEN – The Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) announced the top cumulative team grade-point averages for each of its sponsored sports on Friday afternoon with the East Stroudsburg University field hockey program among those that received recognition.
The Warriors maintained a collective GPA of 3.620 during 2022-23, placing them first out of the 10 PSAC schools that compete in field hockey. They become the fourth different program to be honored and fifth selection overall since the PSAC formed the team GPA award initiative, joining women's basketball (2021-22), men's soccer (2019-20) and women's golf (2016-18).
The 2022 NCAA Division II National Champions were honored with the Team GPA award at the Fall Festival, received the NFHCA National Academic Team award and had a number of accolades on the individual level. 24 Warriors were tabbed to the NFHCA Division II National Academic Squad, with nine earning selections on the NFHCA Division II Scholars of Distinction list. Nicole Krozser landed on the College Sports Communicators Academic All-America Third Team after previously joining Lia Parker and Amy Supey on the All-District Team.
26 members of the field hockey team were honored as PSAC Scholar-Athletes this week as Emma Friend, Nicole Krozser, Kerry Kaufman, Grace Lesh, Kayla Minkon, Julia Cooper, Allyson Forman, Charlotte Simon, Maddy Barbush, Jessica Seidel, Lia Parker, Elaiana Rivera-Lagalla, Lisa Larsson, Amy Supey, Grace Hoelbinger, Emma Valinote, Camille Maquet, Karlie McCloskey, Carmen van Kuringe, Olivia Breen, Jady van Gils, Mattie Hartzler, Bella Viruet, Chiara Soeters, Hanna Lewis and Julia Meijs all held cumulative GPA's over 3.25.
