ESU Men’s Track and Field Win Two Events at Spire Indoor Games

GENEVA, Ohio — The ESU men's track and field team traveled to Ohio to compete at the Spire Collegiate Indoor Games.
 
Tyler Boone (400 meters) and Jaden Johnson (triple jump) recorded first-place finishes.
 
Automatic Qualifiers
Landon Boyle (3,000 meters), Bryce Keenoy (3,000 meters), and Bryson Gilchrist (long jump) all recorded PSAC automatic qualifying times.
 
Running Highlights
The 400-meter group continues to improve, with defending indoor PSAC champion Tyler Boone sprinting his way to first place with a time of 48.55 seconds. This time is good for second overall in the conference.

Freshman star Mark Jackson lowered his freshman record to 49.15 seconds, good for a third-place finish, moving him to No. 5 on the all-time top 10 list and fifth overall in the conference.
 
In the prelims of the 60-meter hurdles, Ragiariki Lewis took fourth with a time of 8.52 seconds, and Liam Beifus took eighth with 8.66 seconds.

In the finals, Lewis claimed fifth with a season's best of 8.43 seconds, moving him to 10th in the conference rankings. Beifus tied his prelim time with 8.66 seconds, good for eighth.
 
In the mile, Joe Walker (4:24.85) and Brian McGarrity (4:26.57) took sixth and seventh, respectively.
 
Lucas Thaler narrowly missed his personal best in the 800 meters, finishing with a time of 1:59.73.
 
In a silver-medal finish, Miguel Charlery ran a season's best of 22.02 seconds. This time moves him to No. 4 on the all-time top 10 list and sixth in the conference.
 
Landon Boyle took second in the 3,000 meters with a new PSAC automatic qualifying time of 8:40.48, lowering his personal best by nearly eight seconds. This time is good for No. 7 all-time and No. 9 in the conference.

Bryce Keenoy also earned an automatic qualifying time with his fifth-place finish of 8:44.
 
Field Highlights
In the field, the men's high jumpers took second through seventh place, with Aaron Sanchez as the highest finisher after jumping 2.00 meters.

Kamoni-Smith Johnson (1.95 meters) and Daniel Smith (1.95) tied for third, Drew Domurat (1.95 meters) claimed fifth based on attempts, Peter Stanislavsky (1.95 meters) came in sixth, and Albert Morton (1.90 meters) finished in a three-way tie for seventh.
 
Taylor LaBarre took fifth in the pole vault with his best vault of the day at 4.50 meters.
 
In the long jump, the squad claimed second, third, and fourth. Jack Gorham led the group with his best jump of 6.92 meters, good for second.

Samuel Chedester jumped 6.84 meters to take third, and Bryson Gilchrist set a new PSAC automatic qualifying mark with a jump of 6.84 meters, finishing fourth.
 
A pair of triple jumpers finished first and second. Jaden Johnson won the event with his season's best jump of 14.40 meters, bettering his third-place mark in the conference.

Jack Gorham took second with a jump of 14.25 meters. Daniel Smith took fourth with 14.06 meters. Kevin Polonia (13.76 meters) and Samuel Chedester (13.69 meters) placed seventh and eighth, respectively.
 
Jalen Gaymon represented the Warriors in the shot put, taking sixth with a personal best throw of 15.08 meters. Gaymon returned in the weight throw with another personal best of 13.75 meters.

The Warriors will have one more meet before the conference championships as they head to Penn State next Friday, Feb. 21.
