EAST STROUDSBURG, Pa. — The Warriors opened conference play on Saturday afternoon with an evenly matched contest against the Shepherd Rams. The game ended in a 1-1 draw after a late ESU goal. With the tie, men's soccer starts its conference record at 0-0-1 and a 3-3-1 record overall.
HOW IT HAPPENED
• The Warriors' defense proved strong through the first half, not giving up a single shot on goal in 45 minutes. On the offensive side, ESU showed its hand as well.
Jeter Cardona had a chance at the net in the 10th minute that went saved while
Parker Mork had a look of his own with 10 minutes remaining, his shot also being saved.
• The second half was a much different story as Shepherd quickly started rattling off shots. By the 53rd minute the Rams recorded five second-half shots while the Warriors had two in between.
• 64 minutes into the game, Shepherd found itself with a corner kick, leading to the first goal of the game. The score only drove the aggression up for the Warriors as they maintained control of the game offensively for the next 15 minutes leading to a late goal by
Ryan Kiernan, tying up the game with 10 minutes left. Each team gave themselves chances to get the deciding goal, ESU taking 5 shots at the net and Shepherd posting three, but none found the net.
GAME NOTES
• Kiernan's goal was his first of the season, making him the seventh Warrior to record a goal in 2026.
Jace Seara's assist was his second of the year, tying with Cardona as team leaders in the stat.
