2025 Season Highlights: In his debut outdoor campaign, Emmanuel Gitonga steadily built momentum as one of East Stroudsburg’s rising mid-distance runners. His breakthrough came at the Carol & John Covert Classic, where he clocked a personal best 1:56.88 in the 800m, earning 14th place against a fast collegiate field.
Throughout the spring, Gitonga showed consistency across both the 800m and 1500m, competing in high-profile meets like the All-American Invitational, Bison Outdoor Classic, and PSAC Outdoor Championships. Though primarily focused on the 800m, he also logged strong efforts in the 1500m, including a season-best 4:16.82 at the Monmouth Season Opener.
As a relay contributor, Gitonga helped anchor ESU’s 4x400 squad, finishing 7th at the Delaware Invitational (3:32.65), demonstrating his competitive edge and team-first approach.
A composed racer with developing strength, Emmanuel rounded out his season with a solid showing at the PSAC Outdoor Championships, placing 20th in prelims of the 800m and gaining valuable experience at the conference level.
