EAST STROUDSBURG, Pa. — The East Stroudsburg University men's track and field team put on a dominant display at home on Friday, showcasing depth and talent at the 19th Annual All-American Meet. During the meet Brian McGarrity, Jack Gorham, Cole Gorham, Aaron Sanchez, Tyler Boone, Chris Fredericks, Ryan Ditty, Zephyr Crestwell, Liam Beifus, Will Mattei Jr., Evan Wooby and Ben Terry were honored for their commitment to excellence as student athletes during their careers at ESU. 

PSAC Automatic Qualifiers

Jaylen Morrison (100m, 200m), Zandray Thompson (200m), Tyler Boone (200m), Kevin Polonia (triple jump), Samuel Chedester (triple jump) and Jalen Gaymon (hammer throw) each earned PSAC automatic qualifying marks.

Running Highlights

Ragiariki Lewis opened the meet with a win in the 110-meter hurdles, clocking 15.13.

In the 1,500 meters, Brian McGarrity ran a season-best 4:09.33 to win the race. Nick Gdowik followed in second with a personal-best 4:10.76. Evan Wooby (4:14.57), Lucas Thaler (4:19.64), Tim Gale (4:24.57), and Justin Walters (4:37.07, season best) placed third through seventh, respectively.

Morrison claimed the 100-meter title with a lifetime-best 10.90 to secure a PSAC qualifying mark. Lewis finished third with a collegiate-best 10.96, while Thompson notched his third straight PR at 10.99.

Liam Beifus continued his strong season with a win in the 400-meter hurdles in 55.17. Freshman Colin Manley finished second with a personal-best 1:00.22.

Boone earned his first win of the day in the 400 meters, running 48.73. Freshman Jayden Johnson placed second with a collegiate-best 49.19.

Thaler dominated the 800 meters with a time of 2:00.45. McGarrity placed second in 2:02.34 (season best), followed by Andrew Dowdell (third), Joe Walker (fourth), Wooby (fifth), Gdowik (seventh), and Walters (eighth).

Boone doubled up in the 200 meters, winning in 21.53 to add another PSAC qualifying time. Thompson followed with a lifetime-best 21.86 to also qualify, and Morrison rounded out the top three in 21.94 to pick up his second qualifying mark of the day.

Field Highlights

Aaron Sanchez took first in the high jump, clearing a season-best 2.00 meters (6-6¾). Jaden Johnson placed third at 1.85 meters (6-0¾).

Taylor LaBarre extended his winning streak in the pole vault with a clearance of 4.70 meters (15-5). Chris Costa took second with a season-best 4.55 meters (14-11), and Gabriel Yacovone earned third with a personal-best 3.80 meters (12-5½).

The long jump squad delivered a historic performance, led by Bryson Gilchrist, who posted a massive PR of 7.52 meters (24-8¼). The jump ranks No. 4 in Division II, No. 2 in ESU history, No. 1 in the conference, and set a new Eiler-Martin Stadium record.

Daniel Smith followed in second with a leap of 7.37 meters (24-2¼), the 14th-best in DII. Jack Gorham was third at 7.28 meters (23-10¾), ranking 24th nationally. Nasir Heard (7.19m, 23-7¼), Peter Stanislavsky (7.15m, 23-5½, PR), and Samuel Chedester (7.13m, 23-4¾) completed an ESU sweep of the top six.

In the triple jump, Daniel Smith placed second with an NCAA provisional mark of 14.73 meters (48-4). Stanislavsky added his second PR of the day, finishing third with a jump of 14.40 meters (47-3). Kevin Polonia placed fourth with a PSAC-qualifying mark of 14.27 meters (46-10), while Chedester also qualified by placing fifth with a leap of 13.89 meters (45-7).

Gilchirst, Smith, and Gorham now sit at No. 1, 2, and 3 atop of the conference rankings each having recorded NCAA provisional marks on the season. 

Cole Gorham added another career victory in the shot put with his season's best, NCAA provisional and conference leading mark in the shot put of 17.84m (58-6.5). Anthony Voto came in second with an NCAA provisional mark of his own of 16.76m (55-0). 

Gorham and Voto returned in the discus throw to go second and third by way of 54.76m (179-08) and 47.02 (154-3) respectively. Jalen Gaymon claimed a top five finish with 40.53m (132-11). Jacob Carney (39.36m, 129-01) finished top eight. 

On the runway, the freshman Luke Stevenosky won the javelin throw with a new personal best of 65.49 (214-10) which is the fourth best in school history, No. 14 in DII, and the best in the PSAC. Chris Fredericks claimed second after throwing 64.86m (214-10) which is the fifth best in school history, No. 17 in DII, and second behind only his teammate in the conference. 

Voto claimed third in the hammer throw with his day's best of 56.74 (186-2). Gaymon qualified for the conference meet after throwing 48.09m (157-9).
