Warriors Wrap Up Competition at Penn Relays and Carol & John Covert Classic

EAST STROUDSBURG, Pa. — The East Stroudsburg University men's track and field team closed out a busy weekend of competition at the 2025 Penn Relays and Day 2 of the Carol & John Covert Classic.

2025 Penn Relays

Cole Gorham opened his day by placing seventh overall in the championship discus with a throw of 55.36 meters (181-7).

Later in the day, Gorham added another top-10 finish, taking seventh in the championship shot put with a mark of 17.66 meters (57-11¼) while competing against strong Division I competition.

Chris Fredericks finished as the runner-up in the championship javelin with a season-best throw of 64.91 meters (212-11).

Carol & John Covert Classic

PSAC Automatic Qualifier

Brian McGarrity (1,500 meters) recorded a PSAC automatic qualifying time.

Running Highlights

McGarrity led the way in the 1,500 meters, winning the event with a conference-qualifying and personal-best time of 4:01.83. Nick Gdowik finished fourth in 4:05.53. Joe Walker (4:07.35) placed eighth, Lucas Thaler (4:08.73, PR) finished tenth, Ethan Holcomb (4:09.45) was eleventh, and Evan Wooby (4:10.37, PR) placed twelfth.

Three Warriors finished among the top five in the 110-meter hurdles: Ragiariki Lewis placed third in 15.24, Colin Manley took fourth in 15.65, and Liam Beifus finished fifth in 15.68.

Miguel Charlery continued his strong sprinting with a runner-up finish in the 100 meters, clocking 10.91.

In the 800 meters, Emmanuel Gitonga ran a season-best 1:56.88, narrowly missing his personal record. Tim Gale followed with a sub-two-minute finish at 1:58.13, and Brian McGarrity added a season-best 2:00.59.

Manley added another top-three finish by placing third in the 400-meter hurdles with a collegiate-best time of 59.86.

Field Highlights

Kevin Polonia captured the triple jump title with a winning mark of 13.86 meters (45-5¾).
