Earned four letters in football and wrestling and one letter in track and field. He was a three-year starter in football and earned all-star honors as a guard. He played on the Warriors' 1954 football team which tied for the Pennsylvania Conference title. He was the PSAC heavyweight runner-up in wrestling.
